Secret 7’’ combines music and art for a good cause

I cannot wait for this.... although I wont be able to attend as I now live in Manchester and I'm still waiting for something amazing and thought provoking like this to head to Manchester.

This is right up my street and next year I would love to do my own secret 7" cover!

WHAT IS IT

Secret 7’’ combines music and art for a good cause. They take seven tracks from seven of the best-known bands and artists around. Then press each of those tracks 100 times to vinyl then get creatives from around the world to interpret artwork in their own style for of one of the 7 tracks; resulting in a one-of-a-kind sleeve for every single one. We exhibit these for a week, then on Record Store Day (April 20) you can get your hands on one, or more, for £40 apiece.

You won’t know who created the sleeve, or even which song it’s for until you have parted with your cash – the secret lies within. Its a bit like the postcard thing from the royal academy of art.

For one weekend – April 13th and 14th – the public will be able to view the collection as a whole. The following weekend – on Record Store Day, April 20th – we'll be able to purchase the sleeves until Sunday.
